Experience & Qualifications

Introduction:

Hello Families, my name is Rhi, I'm 21 years old and I'm from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. I was born in the UK and moved to Australia at a young age. Ever since I was little, I have had a passion for caring for little ones. I love their enthusiasm and curiosity of life. Building on this excitement is what I love most. I am passionate about creating an environment where EVERY child feels heard and loved. I want to create fun experiences that children will remember whilst ensuring their safety is at the forefront of every activity. I have worked in 2 childcare centers, an afterschool care, whilst also nannying for babies in Japan and working as a Camp instructor in Canada. Each job gave me a newfound love for working with children. I learnt so much from each age group and found with gained experience and knowledge of how each child is unique, needs to be cared for differently and how to adjust my teaching and caring skills where necessary. My main hobbies are surfing, snowboarding, yoga, pilates, and spending quality time with the people I love. The key reason I have decided to work in childcare this winter is because, looking after children has never really felt like work to me. A job that brings this much joy never feels like work. I believe with the skills I have learnt over the years as well as the love and passion I have for little ones, I am the perfect person to care for and have so much fun with your little ones. I can't wait for this experience and hope to hear from you soon.
Qualifications:

In my last year of high school (2020) I completed my Certificate III in Childhood Education and Care. I absolutely loved completing this Certificate as it enabled me to work with all age groups within the center, from the babies' room to the pre-prep room. I created so many wonderful connections with the children and although I had been babysitting all through my teenage years, I believe this is where I really found my love for caring for little ones. I completed my last First Aid certificate in July of last year. This was a week long course. I learnt every safety skill necessary to care for children and I was lucky enough to be given roles which included pre-planning days for the children to learn about the environment, reading, writing and other educational skills.
Experience:

Over the past 5 years I have cared for children from as young 6 months to 12 years old. I have been lucky enough to babysit and nanny in many places, including Japan and Canada. I have looked after infants, ensuring their routines are maintained, including feeding, naps, and developmental activities. I have also cared for toddlers and young children, engaging them in learning, play, and social development. I think the best experience was in the Canadian summertime. I was blessed with a job as a summer camp instructor. With this came teaching 3–5-year-olds how to ride bikes along with adventures into the bush, canoeing and other outdoor activities. I bonded with this age group as I loved watching their excitement, development and curiosity grow as the weeks went by. These groups were sometimes as large, and I cared for up to 7 children at a time. I found ways to engage the children whilst also ensuring their safety was my number one priority. I believe the key reason I excelled at this job was because I made sure that each child felt understood. Each child has a unique way of learning, listening and engaging and altering my way of teaching and helping them is something I make a priority. Through roles such as this I have developed strong skills in childcare, communication, and creating engaging experiences. I have also worked in 2 childcare centers in Australia as well as an afterschool care. These jobs widened my knowledge about working with children as old as 12, which I also loved.

All children want to do is have fun, and if I'm able to give them a memorable experience whilst ensuring they are safe and learning, then that to me is a successful day.

"I have known Rhianna for around 12 years. She has an excellent manner with children, I have observed her looking after many children and also working in a childcare centre at the school that I work in. She has also looked after my own children on many occasions and I trust her implicitly to look after anyone in her care with compassion and attentiveness.

Rhianna is a people person and she lights up the room she is in, she is a pleasure to have around and she would be an asset to your workforce. She is organised, well kept and punctual and I have no worries in recommending her for any position you have available.
